Guest Chef Michael Goss served up a rustic Italian meal in the studio of artist John Himmelfarb. Michael’s menu started with some lighter courses featuring fresh striped bass and grana padano cheese. Then it was on to the meat of the meal, rabbit followed by pork. Go here to see the full menu.

Some of John’s earlier paintings were quite truck-focused and used truck images reflecting John’s longtime admiration for trucks of all shapes and sizes. Some of his other work proposed images as language. My favorites were John’s landscapes which were layers of evolving and contradicting paintings on one canvas.

His latest truck-inspired work is 3 dimensional -  altered truck-like structures cast in various materials.  They were the inspiration for our edible choco trucks, which mysteriously disappeared by the end of the evening.
